The AAA 4-Diamond property is the only historic beachfront hotel on the Texas Gulf Coast and renowned as one of the finest Galveston hotels on the beach. Hotelier Mark Wyant, owner, Seawall Hospitality LLC, purchased the property from the heirs of Galveston Island-born oilman and developer George P. Mitchell in March 2021. Mr. Wyant, along with his wife, Lorenda Wyant, have instituted extensive renovations, which will embody the hotel's beautiful architectural design while, at the same time, introduce an upgraded luxury and energy.
“We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at the Grand Galvez on Saturday night. Everything was perfect from the planning process with Angela in Catering, to the venue, to the delicious food served. The hotel was under major renovation, but the hotel made it where it was not noticeable at all. We had the wedding outdoors at night in the Oleander Garden, and the reception in the Terrace Ballroom. I had guest give me rave reviews all night about the entire event. On Sunday, we had guest stay for the Grand Galvez wonderful Sunday brunch. What a great wedding weekend and wonderful wedding experience.”
“There aren’t enough words to describe how thankful we are for Angie, Mr. Bob, Chef Nate and the rest of the team at the Galvez. Our wedding weekend was absolutely perfect! Every detail was absolutely perfect, the food was amazing and all of our guest said they had an amazing time. It was truly a fairytale and we loved every minute of it!"
“On November 13, 2021, we had my daughter's wedding and reception at The Grand Galvez. Simply, it was a Grand Event. Your staff, from management, department to department, bartenders, servers, helpers, made my daughter's once-in-a-lifetime event a great time to be remembered forever. The event happened without a hiccup, an issue, and most importantly, without stress. If you asked me for a recommendation to improve the experience, my only comment would be, "Don't change a thing." Observations that made a great day at The Grand Galvez; "professional (and full) staff, great food and plenty of it, now, that is an open bar, first-class accommodations," and all at the Queen of the Gulf. You and your staff accomplished this; while ownership was in transition, renovations were taking place, and all during a pandemic. In the words of the late baseball Hall of Famer Casey Stengal, "Amazing!" Not sure if we were the first, but we had a great Conga line through the lobby. My daughter and her husband, my wife and I and all our guests thank you, Mr. Wyant, for a well-done job.” - Bradford Gulick
