Melodie + Brandon
While on a summer trip to The Biltmore Estate in the Smoky Mountains, Brandon introduced his grandmother Nana to his sweetheart Melodie, and the group enjoyed a wonderful day together. "Nana told me Melodie was a keeper, and I'd better not let her go," says Brandon. Sadly, Nana passed away shortly thereafter. During the holidays, Melodie and Brandon returned to The Biltmore to view the Christmas lights. During a romantic carriage ride, Brandon nervously got to one knee with a custom-designed ring. "Melodie jumped into my arms and said 'yes' before she even saw the ring," he says. Following a 1920s-themed rehearsal dinner to which guests arrived in costume, the couple exchanged vows in a white church decorated in blush and green for a clean, romantic look. The decor for the reception at the Hotel Galvez & Spa in Galveston continued the theme with more blush, creams and hints of gold. Guests dined on filet mignon and red snapper with lump crab and enjoyed the beautifully monogrammed white and gold, seven layer cake from Cakes by Gina. "In the ballroom," says Brandon, "we held a surprise masquerade!" After guests had dined on the veranda, the ballroom doors were thrown open to reveal a Phantom-of-the-Opera-themed afterparty, with deep red uplighting, red brocade linens and Italian hand-painted masks. The crowd celebrated late into the evening with dancing, music and even a stilt-walker!
