Never!” says Michelle—who proved herself wrong, in the best way, by marrying Renzo, with whom she was set up by a mutual friend. The bride, who happens to be the owner of beloved West University gift-and-housewares boutique Blue Leaf, has a natural flair for gracious design, which her 300-guest wedding showed off beautifully. As celebratory as it was spectacular, Michelle and Renzo’s wedding also featured swings hung from the ceiling, confetti cannons, a cigar roller and an after-party, complete with disco-ball drop. Middle-school classmates who attended separate high schools then reconnected in college, Sarah and Logan have a long Houston history and a lot of family and friends between them. Their choice of Wimberley’s Old Glory Ranch as the venue for their festive fall wedding gave them the opportunity to celebrate with 300 of their nearest and dearest in a setting of privacy and natural splendor. “The theme for our wedding was ‘shabby chic’ and rustic,” explains Sarah. “Everything was perfect”—from the “beautiful flowers” to the “delicious food” to the “mismatched vintage china.” Best of all, she adds, was having those she loved most make their way to the Hill Country for an unforgettable destination wedding conveniently close to home.

“We met at a charity camp for children with cancer called Candlelighter’s, back in El Paso,” recounts recent bride Paige. “Patrick was the counselor for the youngest boys and I was the counselor for the youngest girls. Patrick had a ‘tough guy’ exterior, but seeing him with those children, gentle and kind, melted my heart and I was immediately in love. By the end of the camp we were constantly talking and flirting, sharing music and books; it was a beautiful beginning to a beautiful relationship.” We’ll second that, Paige. And third it. “I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to propose, but then realized that just being with you is perfect enough, will you marry me?” are the exact words that Julio said to sweep Houston bride Alejandra off her feet. The pair celebrated with 280 of their nearest and dearest at The Petroleum Club of Houston. The breathtaking views of the city from the 43^rd floor provided the perfect backdrop to complement their sophisticated color palette of blush, ivory and gold. Ivory, Fuchsia and Navy Wedding at The Sam Houston Hotel

After a slew of online dating disappointments, Imly decided to give it one more shot and emailed Jesse on Match.com. And boy, is she glad she did. Jesse declared his love for Imly on one knee at the top of a mountain during a snowboarding trip in Keystone, Colo., and the rest was history. The pair wanted their downtown Houston rooftop wedding at The Sam Houston Hotel to be fun and as relaxing as possible for their guests–but still super stylish and chic. Their palette of ivory, fuchsia, blush pink and navy carried through the cake, decor, flowers and wedding party attire–even the bride’s style: Imly went from a drop-waist ivory dress for the ceremony, to a blush-pink sweetheart-neck gown for the reception, to a flirty, short lace dress for the after-party.
