Ivory, Fuchsia and Navy Wedding at The Sam Houston Hotel
After a slew of online dating disappointments, Imly decided to give it one more shot and emailed Jesse on Match.com. And boy, is she glad she did. Jesse declared his love for Imly on one knee at the top of a mountain during a snowboarding trip in Keystone, Colo., and the rest was history. The pair wanted their downtown Houston rooftop wedding at The Sam Houston Hotel to be fun and as relaxing as possible for their guests–but still super stylish and chic. Their palette of ivory, fuchsia, blush pink and navy carried through the cake, decor, flowers and wedding party attire–even the bride’s style: Imly went from a drop-waist ivory dress for the ceremony, to a blush-pink sweetheart-neck gown for the reception, to a flirty, short lace dress for the after-party. “With a venue like this, it’s easy to do little and have a huge impact,” says bride Jessica of downtown Houston’s chic Sam Houston Hotel. “I wanted the wedding ceremony and reception to be soft, romantic and neutral, and my color palette”—a contemporary combo of gray, blush, white and silver—“reflects that.” You’d never know from viewing Jessica and Andrew’s wedding photos that the couple planned their wedding—with help of coordinator Sobi Qazi of Lion & Lamb Event Services—in just three weeks. But that wasn’t their biggest challenge. “The biggest challenge was having our guest count jump up by 70+ guests the week of the wedding,” Jessica says. “But it was an easy fix because I had the best vendors, who were able to work together and make it work.”

“He truly is my hero,” says Jamie of her firefighter hubby James, whom she wed in a fabulous fall affair at Hotel ZaZa, in front of 130 of the couple’s nearest and dearest. Classic Black, White and Blush Wedding at Hotel ZaZa
When Allison entered their room at Hotel Granduca on the eve of Cinco de Mayo and found hundreds of rose petals and candles everywhere, she actually wondered if she was in the wrong room. But when Ty took her by the hand and got down on one knee, she knew she was in exactly the right place. One year later, the pair celebrated their nuptials with a timeless reception at Hotel ZaZa, done up in classic shades of black, white and soft blush pink by Events in Bloom. Lovely in her Vera Wang gown, with hair and makeup by The Perfect Face, Allison danced the night away with her handsome groom—and 250 of their nearest and dearest—in a one-for-the-ages Houston wedding that has captured our hearts. Dreamy Vintage Texas Garden Wedding
Talk about a fairytale proposal: “A month before I graduated from Texas A&M, my parents planned a family trip to Disney World. Nolan and I were walking through the Magic Kingdom when he said, ‘I know it’s probably way too late to make dinner reservations in Cinderella’s castle, but I’m going to ask anyways.’ When he came back, he said, ‘There was a cancellation, so I took it!’ When we walked inside the castle, Cinderella greeted us and we took a picture with her. Then, we were escorted to our table. I was so caught up in taking photos of everything inside that I did not notice how weird Nolan was acting. I was starting to get a little concerned when our dessert was delayed, and then it all happened. A waiter brought out a silver platter, sat it down in front of me, and underneath was a glass slipper with my beautiful ring on it! Nolan walked over to my chair, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. All of the Disney princesses came out and congratulated us, and a photographer snapped photos. It really was magical,” says bride Cady. Magical, too, was the couple’s vintage-inspired wedding, filled with personal mementos, antiques and DIY touches. “We laid out a dance floor under the stars, had a live band playing Frank Sinatra songs, and we sent off floating lanterns at the end of the night (ever since I saw the movie ‘Tangled’, I have been so fascinated with those things). We left the reception in an awesome, light blue Cadillac from the fifties.
