It’s rare to find genuine historical landmark status and room for 500 of your nearest and dearest in one Houston wedding venue, but The Parador packs both…plus so much more. Just a few reasons why we love this Museum District icon:
Architectural Details Galore: With its Mediterranean-style arches and brickwork, Byzantine design details and 35-foot-high domed ceiling, The Parador offers a true “WOW” experience from the moment guests first arrive. And the photo ops at this circa-1928 gem? Unbeatable!
Location, Location, Location: Nestled in Houston’s chic Museum District, The Parador is steps away from swank boutique hotels, fine restaurants, and some of the country’s most esteemed cultural institutions, including the Menil Collection, Houston Museum of African-American Culture and the world-renowned Children’s Museum of Houston. Make sure to include a map and recommendations in your guests’ hotel-room welcome basket.
A Delicious Celebration: Not just a pretty face, The Parador is also a superb place for feasting in style. Preferred caterers at this top Houston wedding venue include Jackson and Company and Cordua Catering–two of the city’s most acclaimed culinary experts, guaranteeing you and your guests the wedding celebration of a lifetime.

30 years of brides. 30 years of grooms. 30 years of “I said, ‘Yes!'” and “It was the best night of my life!” 30 years of first looks, first dances, first newlywed kisses. 30 years of fairytale gowns and joyful tears and dreams come true. The thing about being Houston’s longest published wedding magazine is that while weddings may be once-in-a-lifetime, we get to live and breathe weddings, and the joy they bring, day in and day out, year after year. And on Sept. 21, we celebrated that gift, and the incredible vendors and wedding experts who make it possible, with a magnificent gala at Corinthian – Houston.
Here, we share a glimpse at the fun and fabulousness of our 30th Anniversary Gala and Client Appreciation Party. Like many Houston events, our gala was affected by Hurricane Harvey’s wrath. With a sudden city power outage affecting our original host venue, The Ballroom at Bayou Place, our team of professionals had 24 hours to move this 300-person formal event to the Corinthian-Houston. We were so impressed with the level of ingenuity and unflappable professionalism each partner exhibited. Without missing a beat, they provided gorgeous decor, delicious food, a full bar and incredible music, creating a night to remember.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to our partners, without whom we could not have celebrated in such extraordinary style: Boyd Bryan of Corinthian – Houston for hosting us at such short notice, Craig Howard and Kirksey Gregg of The Ballroom at Bayou Place (which, in spite of a city power outage, is very much in business and continues to host amazing events) for providing our bar and waitstaff; Darryl & Co. and Bright Star Productions for the exquisite decor and lighting; Danny Ray And The Acoustic Production and LG Entertainment for getting everyone on the dance floor; GTX Productions for outstanding video and sound; Jackson and Company, Lola Catering, The Hometown Chef, A La Carte Catering and Bailey Connor Catering for providing an array of delicious food; Susie’s Cakes & Confections and Cakes by Gina for the delectable desserts; Wink by Erica for the macaron favors; and our fantastic gala photographer Civic Photos.
Guests indulged in sweet treats and desserts by Houston bakers, including gold-dusted macaron favors by Wink by Erica.

After indulging their discerning palates, Weddings in Houston partners and friends danced the night away to the sounds of LG Entertainment Production and the high-energy interactive performance of Danny Ray and the Acoustic Production.
Guests were treated to a surprise onstage appearance by Weddings in Houston president Vik Day… our resident business man by day, rock star by night.
As always, it was a wonderful experience getting to spend quality time with our friends, partners and associates. Thank you to all of our guests for making it a truly memorable evening. We appreciate you and could not be where we are without YOU!

If you weren’t present for Thursday’s festivities, well…let us give you a little glimpse of what you missed.
We’re so thrilled to have benefited from the talents of the following show contributors, without whom we could not have put on this one-of-a-kind wedding fantasyscape and sumptuous fete: EB Inc. Event Rentals & Design, LBL Event Rentals & Design, Johanna Terry Events, DJU Productions, LG Entertainment, Scott Graham Piano, and our awesome show photographer (and top Houston-area wedding photography studio!) Civic Photos, whose pix we’re featuring here.
From the moment our guests entered the majestic Corinthian in downtown Houston, they knew they were in for something special, as they encountered floral-and-finery flights of fantasy from the likes of Plants N’ Petals, Todd Events, Flora & Eventi, Darryl & Co., Johanna Terry Events, Nuage Designs, Inc., EB Inc. Helping couples to refine their wedding-day vision, and coordinate the details of their big day, planners Kat Creech Events, A Day to Remember and Cocomar Ladies met one-on-one with attendees, and showed plenty of examples of the incredible Houston wedding celebrations they’ve brought to life for their grateful clients.
Brides who were searching for wedding-day style and fashion found plenty to love, from Parvani Vida Bridal & Formal, Winnie Couture, Now & Forever Bridal Boutique, Houston Bridal Gallery, Damsel White Label, Tess Harriss Designs and MW Couture.

And just in case they weren’t sure whether they’d prefer a head of flowing waves or a glam updo, a sun-kissed glow or shimmering bare shoulders, a full set of lush lashes or just a bit of enhancement, our guests could experiment with looks, get advice and try out products from Nyoka Gregory Beauty, WINX Lash Studio, KAX Tanning Souffle and Hotze Health & Wellness Center.
Of course, no wedding-day look is complete with the right…sparkle. And guests found oodles of glimmer and shine (and a few VERY substantial rocks), at the dazzling displays put on by Peran & Scannell Jewelers, and Donoho’s Jewellers.
Couples seeking a talented photographer and/or filmmaker to capture the beauty and emotional resonance of their special day had an abundance of options, with exhibits from Adam Nyholt, D. Jones, M. Wang, Lindsay Elizabeth, MD Turner, Steve Lee, Serendipity, Danielson Cinema, mutli-Emmy-award-winner Sculpting With Time, and our very own show photographer Civic Photos.

From food and drink, to stunning tablescapes, to beautiful exhibitor displays, to luxury swag bags and superb door prizes (including our hold-your-breath giveaway of 5 nights’ luxury oceanfront accommodation at Bermuda’s fabulous Pompano Beach Club), the Feb. 4 I Do! Wedding Soiree was an absolute knockout.

When Brittney first met Taylor through a mutual friend while they were both attending Texas A&M, she wasn’t so sure about dating the “old” guy. Six months later, that changed. Brittney decided to text Taylor to see how he was doing and the rest was history. Taylor planned the perfect proposal in Paris that completely swept Brittney off of her feet. “We stayed in a quaint little hotel near the Eiffel Tower and he told me that we were doing an 8 AM Eiffel Tower tour but he wanted me to look nice so we could take some pictures beforehand. At 7 AM, we stood in Trocadero Square where the Eiffel tower sits beautifully in the background attempting to take selfies. A photographer walked by offering to take pictures of us and it turns out, Taylor had been talking to this photographer and coordinated this whole plan. I had no idea. The photographer’s line was “the lighting is perfect now” and that is when Taylor got on his knee and asked me to marry him.” Looks like dating an “older” guy isn’t so bad after all, huh. It was only appropriate for the pair to plan their Houston wedding around the Texas A&M color palette of maroon, gray and white, which complemented their gorgeous wedding venue, The Corinthian, perfectly. Just wait until you see the beautiful photos from their wedding, thanks to J. Cogliandro Photography. You’ll be swooning for sure. Congrats Brittney and Taylor, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
