Peach, Gold & Teal Wedding at The Sam Houston Hotel

Ladies, you never know where you’ll meet the one… He might just live in the same apartment building as you. Just ask Houston bride Kelly who met Miguel at a community barbeque thrown by a mutual friend. It was only a matter of weeks after meeting that Kelly and Miguel had their first date, and the rest was history. The lovely couple chose the Veranda by *17 at The Sam Houston Hotel which provided the perfect backdrop for their modern-vintage wedding theme. Gold mercury glass centerpieces and warm amber lighting filled the room. Sounds gorgeous, right? Just wait ‘til you see the sweet pictures. New to Houston while preparing for her wedding, bride Farnaz found planning her perfect day a bit of a challenge. But, with the help of close friend, she did her research—and created an event she’d never forget. The bride wed her groom, Amir, in a traditional Persian ceremony, attended by 100 of their closest friends and family, after which the newlyweds joined their guests for a Mediterranean feast, followed by dancing—lots and lots of dancing, which, the bride says, is her fondest memory of the big day. Award-winning Houston event-design firm Plants N’ Petals lent its fine floral talents to the black-tie affair, making a beautiful day even more beautiful.

Vintage candleabras, lanterns, lace overlays, vintage vases, and a soft color palette of blush, mint, cream and lush greens are what defined Anna and George’s dreamy, vintage wedding. The guests indulged in pistachio-crusted Redfish and New York strip au jus with horseradish cream (mmm) from Café Natalie.
