What started as a casual friendship between college classmates Silvia and Travis developed into a sweet romance. Following a romantic proposal at Gerald D. Hine’s Waterwall, Silvia and Travis tied the knot in a modern al fresco ceremony at 15 Acres on November 7th, 2020. The bride notes, “The reason we fell in love with 15 Acres was because of the modern architecture since a lot of the venues in Texas had more of a rustic feel.”
The celebration moved indoors to the venue’s spacious and airy ballroom for a “clean and modern” reception. Delicate hydrangea centerpieces, lush greenery, and metallic blue linens complimented the ballroom’s blank-slate interior. Silvia’s treasured memory from the modern silver and blue wedding? “The last dance. It was a very intimate moment.” The memorable evening concluded with the newlyweds exiting beneath an arch of sparklers, before making their grand getaway in 15 Acres’ vintage 1936 Roadster.

Planning a wedding is hard enough…but planning a wedding in the middle of a global pandemic is even harder! College sweethearts Elly and Trevor faced countless challenges while trying to navigate their intimate summer wedding in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Should they postpone? Should they cancel? Or should they stick to their original date? Luckily love prevailed and they managed to pull off the celebration of a lifetime at The Astorian. “COVID-19 was definitely the biggest obstacle for us,” says the bride. “We had planned, postponed, then decided on June 19th that we were going to get married on our original date (June 27th), no matter what the day looked like. Everything seemed to fall into place after we made the decision to move forward and called our vendors. It ended up being the most gorgeous day I could have ever imagined. It was the ideal intimate wedding experience.” A gorgeous day indeed, and we are so thankful towards Houston wedding photographer Ama By Aisha for beautifully capturing their special day!
Following their church ceremony, the couple joined 50 of their nearest and dearest at The Astorian for an intimate wedding reception. The reception decor was romantic and elegant, featuring a beautiful summer color palette of white, blush and green with champagne and dusty blue accents. Menu highlights from Cordúa Catering included Golf crab cakes, smoked lamb lollichops, and truffled grilled cheese. The meal’s sweet finish featured a five-tier white wedding cake accented with blue Italian tile print and a yeti groom’s cake, both from Cakes By Gina. The memorable night ended with the couple exiting under a shower of golden sparklers before making their getaway in a vintage 1955 Rolls Royce. The bride’s favorite moment? “Getting ready with my girls in The Astorian bridal suite was perfect,” says the bride. “We blasted our music and drank mimosas while getting our hair and makeup done!” We’re so happy that everything worked out for newlyweds Elly and Trevor and excited to share their romantic and intimate summer wedding with y’all. Congratulations, Elly & Trevor!

Houston bride Rozlind wanted her wedding to be a fabulous party that still had a warm, inviting feeling. From the black and white decor, to the all-white flowers, and romantic candlelit ballroom at Hotel ZaZa, Rozlind and Matthew’s wedding was the definition of modern glam. If you think all of this sounds glamorous, just wait till you see Rozlind’s gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown and Nicholas Kirkwood peep-toe lace heels! Thanks, Adam Nyholt, for the beautiful photos and congrats to the newlyweds!
Finding love was simple for Rosa and Chris, who met on the field while they were playing co-ed softball. Chris tells us how it all went down: “She was standing on 2nd base and I was walking towards left center. Rosa asked what my name was, then asked me out on a date and the rest was history.” Let’s hear it for making the first move, gals!!
Rosa got the right mix of vintage and modern, with a refined palette of navy and gold, complementing the stone, wrought-iron and wood accents of Agave Estates. Ditto her personal bridal style, which combined loose, sideswept hair with a figure-contouring Enzoani gown and pretty peep-toe Loubs!
After feasting on slow-roasted pork, and dancing the night away, the couple exited the reception surrounded by love and LOTS of bubbles, making their newlywed getaway in a Rolls-Royce Phantom!
You know the feels you get when you meet someone for the first time but it feels like you’ve known them forever? That’s the one. Just ask Houston bride Shell who immediately hit it off with Michael the minute they met. A year later Michael got down on one knee at the top of the hill at Gardner State Park and you can guess the rest. Their super chic Houston Club wedding gave us all the feels and are sure you’ll be feeling them, too. We’ll let the lovely pictures courtesy of Civic Photos do the rest of the talking. Congrats and best wishes to the newlyweds!
