Vintage Spanish-Inspired Wedding At Madera Estates

Photo: Ama By Aisha | Venue: Madera Estates

A week after moving back from Stuttgart, Germany, Ian, an Opera singer and the venue director of Conroe event venue Madera Estates, met Paul at McGovern Centennial Gardens during a holiday party in 2016. Two years later, Paul proposed to Ian in NYC after a Broadway show, on top of the iconic Empire State building. It was only fitting for the couple to select Madera Estates for their winter nuptials! “As the venue owner of Madera Estates, we knew immediately we wanted to play to the strengths of the venue, while also doing something completely different and unique to us,” says Ian. “Our leap day wedding was a vintage, Spanish-inspired evening filled with an abundance of candlelight. Deep and rich colors of navy, burgundy, and saffron were complimented by talavera and handmade wrought iron pieces.”

Guests were greeted upon arrival with flower-adorned beer burros and the women in the wedding party wore Frida Kahlo inspired headpieces. The couple tied the knot in a romantic twilight ceremony followed by a show-stopping fireworks display. The celebration moved indoors to Madera Estates’ Hacienda and the newlyweds made their grand reception entrance with adorable alpacas. The evening’s entertainment kicked off with Ian and Paul’s first dance where a drag queen interrupted them acting as a jilted bride! A churro bar and boozy hot chocolate fueled guests for a lively “La Hora Loca” featuring characters on stilts and light up foam sticks. The greatest challenge Ian faced while planning their festive wedding was, “Letting go! As an industry professional, it was hard to not micromanage the process or even day-of details. I call it the blessing and the curse!”

We are so excited to feature this handsome Houston couple and their vintage Spanish-inspired wedding, captured in such detail by Ama By Aisha. Congratulations, Ian & Paul!

Jaclyn and Chris’ simple yet elegant vintage wedding at picturesque League City venue Butler’s Courtyard is giving us all the feels. With divine blush and ivory florals from Haute Flowers & Events, rose-gold accents and tons of natural lighting, the pair gave an airy modern touch to their vintage wedding theme. “The exposed brick, chandeliers and vintage mirrors on site were perfect for that antique vibe I was looking for,” say the bride. And Jaclyn absolutely glowed in her diaphanous Maggie Sottero gown. Following a sweet ceremony, 100 close friends and family joined the new Mr. and Mrs. for a charming tented garden reception. As a unique personal touch to end out the night, the couple took a Star Wars-inspired exit with a lightsaber salute from guests! “Aside from all the sparkles, details and decor, marrying Chris was the absolute best moment of all.” Aww, a big congratulations to this lovely couple!

Sweet DIY Wedding At The Gardens At Madeley Manor

It was the summer of 2014. Zach had just graduated from Rice and his mind was on getting ready to teach, not on meeting the love of his life. Tiffany had just gotten back from a trip to Chicago and was reveling in independence. Then Zach walked in late to a dinner with mutual friends, and a few Mario Kart games later, he was…smitten. Two years later, on a trip to New Orleans, Zach led an unsuspecting Tiffany on a stroll through the French Quarter, to Jackson Square. “When we got to the middle of the square, Zach stopped and pulled out a set of pictures,” Tiffany recounts. “Each picture of us had a letter on the back. We reminisced and talked about each of the memories, as I noticed the letters starting to spell out ‘Will You Marry Me?’ At the last picture, Zach got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. And of course, I SAID ‘YES!!!'” On a lovely spring day, the couple wed in front of 75 loved ones at The Gardens at Madeley Manor in Conroe. “For our decor and theme, we wanted something simple but elegant, that subtly highlighted both our cultures and would appear lighthearted and cute,” Tiffany says. “We enjoyed having an outdoor wedding ceremony, while having an indoor reception.” The couple wrote their own vows, and the bride surprised everyone with a children’s book telling the story of her relationship with Zach. These tender personal touches “filled the ceremony with giggles, laughs and tears,” the couple says.  Click here to read the rest of this post »

Navy & Gold Wedding at Agave Estates by Civic Photos

Finding love was simple for Rosa and Chris, who met on the field while they were playing co-ed softball. Chris tells us how it all went down: “She was standing on 2nd base and I was walking towards left center. Rosa asked what my name was, then asked me out on a date and the rest was history.” Let’s hear it for making the first move, gals!!

Rosa got the right mix of vintage and modern, with a refined palette of navy and gold, complementing the stone, wrought-iron and wood accents of Agave Estates. Ditto her personal bridal style, which combined loose, sideswept hair with a figure-contouring Enzoani gown and pretty peep-toe Loubs!

Rustic-Elegant Barn Wedding by Plants N’ Petals

If we were to give out awards for adorable proposal stories, we’d definitely have to hand one out to Houston couple Britnie and Valentino. “When Britnie and I first started dating, we used to jam out to ‘Anyone Else But You’ by The Moldy Peaches, but we added our own lyrics,” says Valentino. So, naturally, when Valentino had the opportunity to propose to Britnie in front of 200 people at a church retreat, he decided to sing out the beloved indie hit…his way. It went a little something like this: “I am a Jedi and you were an English major/I’ll always protect you with my blue light saber/Here I kneel on this one knee/Oh Britnie, will you tell me you’ll marry me/Because I don’t see this ring more fitting for anyone else but you.” Just like that he swept his beloved off her feet, and they tied the knot a year later with their dearest family and friends in attendance, surrounded by insanely gorgeous flowers and decor from Plants N’ Petals. They even included their favorite Houston hangouts, Southside Espresso, as a vendor at the wedding, which “gave our guests a great non-alcoholic option,” the groom says. Congratulations, Britnie & Valentino, and thank you SO MUCH for sharing your beautiful celebration with us!
