Lindsay and Jake’s love story began in Oklahoma, where they were both attending school. The couple met on a dating app, as many people do these days. The bride says, “We only went on a handful of dates before I ended up having hip surgery. Jake was so caring and helpful for only knowing me for a short time. I knew he was special!”
Tara and Bryce met in high school and fell in love. The couple both attended Oklahoma State University and moved to Houston after graduation, where they began building a beautiful life together.
My name is Tara and I am the Production Manager here at Weddings in Houston. In October 2019, I got engaged to my best friend after over four years together. I was ecstatic, finally all of my “wedding industry knowledge” could be put to use in planning my own wedding! I quickly found out that being on the bride’s side of things is entirely different from the wedding media and marketing side.
Engaged couples have their own set of challenges—challenges that I, myself, have now been experiencing throughout my own wedding planning journey. In addition, with everything going on in the world, we engaged couples are having to navigate wedding planning in an unprecedented way. We are having to utilize virtual venue tours, video calls with potential vendors, and more to plan our upcoming weddings during a pandemic. – All while trying to remain hopeful that everything will be able to go as “planned”. I found that getting started was the hardest part of my own wedding planning process.

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, we want to show all of the mamas out there how much we appreciate them. We asked our lovely Instagram followers what their fave wedding moment with Mom was, and we just had to share what Houston bride Jansu had to say.
“The night before the wedding, my mom and I had a sleepover—just the two of us. We reminisced about my childhood memories, and when I first met my husband in high school. We’d had a physics study party at his house, and when my mom came to pick me up, he was SO formal! He came outside just to shake her hand through the window,” says Jansu.

“We laughed and cried until 2 in the morning. Even though I got little sleep the night before the big day, it was the perfect way to calm my nerves and spend some special time with my mom. She’s my best friend—hands down,” she adds.
