Sarah + Matthew
While vacationing in Napa Valley, wine aficionados Sarah and Matthew were visiting Quintessa Winery, "The one winery Sarah was really looking forward to visiting," says Matthew. The couple rode in a golf cart up a hillside to a private bungalow overlooking the vineyard. With the sun beginning to set in front of them, Matthew asked Sarah if she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. "It was a total fairytale!" says Sarah. The couple tied the knot in a brief and loving ceremony. The most memorable moment for Sarah was when the church doors opened and hundreds of guests were staring at her, the only person she could focus on was Matthew. The wedding at The Astorian, with pretty wine barrels adorned with greenery and roses, tall centerpieces of roses, a chic black-and-white dance floor and a view of Houston's twinkling city lights, was a classic celebration. For the groom, Susie's Cakes and Confections designed a show-stopping groom's cake of wine bottles displayed in a wooden box, an homage to the couple’s romantic proposal story. The wine flowed, the guests dined, and the dancing began, with the newlyweds taking the stage for a loud and joyous duet, to the delight of the crowd. The evening ended with the couple donning light-up sneakers and exiting in a shower of gold sparklers and heartfelt congratulations, before speeding away in a gleaming white vintage Rolls Royce.
