Join us as we travel today to the Palace of the Duke– Hotel Granduca. Reminiscent of an Italian villa, Hotel Granduca, in Houston is an inspiration from the life of Adalberto Malatesta, Granduca of Monfallito. Our style shoot showcases the exquisite jewel box feel of this boutique Houston Hotel, a hidden gem for intimate weddings, that exudes the warmth of a grand home, with exquisite old-world style and service but with all the modern amenities.
Our first look consists of fresh spring details with our model in a white lace ballgown. Dropdown pear-shaped peach morganites were the earrings of choice from Shaftel Diamonds. Mod Effects Events beautifully displayed arrangements of fanciful roses and peonies in shades of violet and magenta that fit the airy setting created by Hotel Granduca‘s window wall. This evergreen theme made for an ethereal look that conveyed the feeling of spring and was magnificently captured by DC Stanley Photography, with video (to come) by J. Ernest Media.
Next, for a change of scenery and style, we dove deep into the mystery of dark accents, glowing candle lights, and enchanting roses. Modern Affinity provided the stunning black lace gown that exuded sophisticated elegance, while Polished Makeup & Hair complemented it with a smokey eye, softly curled pony and a bold red lip. Common Bond Bistro & Bakery added to the theme by designing a cake with cascading red roses. Dramatic and romantic would best describe this alluring candlelit look that suits the bold but warm ambiance of Hotel Granduca.
Hotel Granduca is a must-visit as you search for locations to host your wedding events. Whether you are looking for an intimate ceremony by the pool, a beautiful ballroom reception, a rehearsal dinner in the exquisite restaurant or a bridal tea in the library to the music of a harpist, and central accommodations for your out-of-town guests, Hotel Granduca offers it all.

How’s THIS for a proposal story? “It was a night of reliving ‘firsts’—a Rockets game (our first official meeting), dinner at Vic & Anthony’s (our first official date), drinks at Hotel Zaza…,” says bride Brie Anna. “On a balcony overlooking the Museum District, he surprised me with a hand-drawn charcoal portrait of the two of us. The entire portrait was black and white, EXCEPT for a canary-yellow diamond engagement ring placed on my ring finger within the picture. My eyes were instantly drawn to the yellow image and I turned to find Craig down on one knee!” The couple’s December wedding, with its Catholic church ceremony and “lounge-feel” Magnolia Hotel reception—“NO traditional seating—cocktail-style vignettes and comfortable couches,” the bride recounts—captured the festiveness of the season, as did the surprise “flash mob” organized for the groom! Congratulations to the happy couple, and thanks to DC Stanley Photography for the fantastic photos of the fabulous winter wedding.
WEDDINGS IN HOUSTON FALL 2014 | REAL WEDDING FEATURE
Jessica and Dustin ~ June 1, 2013
One more reason to attend professional networking events: meeting the love of your life. Handsome Dustin caught Jessica’s eye at one such Houston event; four years later the pair shared their vows in an intimate St. Croix destination wedding, with 55 of their loved ones on hand to join in the celebration. Jessica radiant in flowing Pronovias, her groom resort-dapper in his pale gray suit, the Houston-based paramours partied beach-style—with the help of rum cocktails, a tropical-inspired menu, and DJ-spun tunes—then enjoyed a lazy Virgin Islands recovery with their best friends and closest family members.
Names: Jessica Lewis & Dustin Priemer ~ Proposal: Perfection “at the end of an amazing european vacation, on a pier at sunset in barcelona, dustin simply said, ‘i love you very much and i want you to be my wife’” ~ Number of Guests: 55 ~ Wedding Dress: Pronovias from Houston Bridal Gallery ~ Photography: DC Stanley Photography ~ Registry: Macy’s; Williams-Sonoma ~ Honeymoon: Anguilla
The tailgate scene at the Sept. 8, 2012, Texas A&M vs. Florida game was pretty much the perfect spot for Chisholm’s marriage proposal to Samantha—after all, the A&M alums are both huge football fans. The pair’s Chateau Cocomar wedding, with its elegant palette of black, white and silver, was the very picture of elegance, but with plenty of laid-back, high-spirited fun. Samantha says she especially cherishes the wedding memory of “being sung to by my husband and all of his fraternity brothers.” Big thanks to DC Stanley Photography for the pretty pix of this utterly adorable Houston couple, and congrats to the newlyweds!
