Ariana + Gregory
Groom Gregory wryly describes his outdoor proposal to Ariana. He chose a secluded overlook with a scenic view of the Seattle skyline, on the fourth anniversary of their first date. Not wanting to arouse suspicion by telling Ariana to dress nicely, he told her to wear whatever she was comfortable in, and that they might spend some time outside. "November in Seattle weather was absolutely freezing to a girl fresh out of the Texas heat," says Gregory. "Thus, when I got down on one knee at a scenic spot, it was in front of a screaming puffball, bundled head to toe in winter clothes. But she still said yes!" For their intimate Houston hotel wedding coordinated by Jim Gray of Grayhouse Events Atelier, the fashion-forward bride shed her winter clothes for a Romona Keveza stunner from Joan Pillow Bridal Salon. Guests dined on onion-crusted filet of beef and herb grilled jumbo shrimp, and a gorgeous hand-painted white and gold three layer white almond cake decorated with fresh flowers by Susie's Cakes & Confections. Says Ariana, "This wedding was an expression of art and beauty for me and an expression of hospitality for my parents. People who I had never seen dance in my life were dancing. One of our favorite moments was, right after exiting the ceremony, our family and bridal party gathered, and the room just exploded with joy. Greg and I have never felt more loved than in that moment!"
