Rizza + Josh
Though she knew that the years she was about to devote to nursing school were going to be filled with “growth, changes and learning,” Rizza could not have known that they would also be filled with travel, long phone calls and webcam chats in support of a brand-new relationship. But that’s exactly what happened, when she fell in love with Josh just a few weeks before their high-school graduation. After four long years, Josh accepted a job in Houston and moved back home after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. “It took some time adjusting to this change, as we were both very independent individuals coming out of college,” Rizza admits. But their devotion to one another saw them through the toughest relationship challenges, and in September 2017, Josh proposed on Es Vedrà, “a mystical island off the coast of Ibiza, believed to be the tip of the lost city of Atlantis,” Rizza recounts. For their early fall wedding, the couple joined 320 friends and family members for a deeply spiritual church ceremony, followed by a celebration at The Bell Tower on 34th, filled with dining, dancing, and, in one of the bride’s favorite memories, “the groom crowd surfing at the end of the night!”
