The way to a woman’s heart? Dogs. Just ask William, who proposed to the love of his life, Cherie, using their adorable pups. “As I walked through the door, our schnauzer greeted me with a ‘will you marry my dad?’ sign, followed by our retriever wearing a sign that said ‘mom, please say yes!’” recounts Cherie. How could she say no? For their Texas Hill Country celebration, Cherie, who happens to be the director of membership for longtime Weddings in Houston partner the Petroleum Club of Houston, walked down the chapel aisle at Wimberley’s Old Glory Ranch in a lovely lace Maggie Sottero gown from Weddings by Debbie. Cherie and William’s wedding was the perfect mix of rustic and glam. Their charming outdoor reception began with a pair of miniature donkeys bearing colorful saddle baskets of refreshing drinks to greet guests. Candle chandeliers, rose-and-peony-filled wood barrels, a huge stone fireplace, and Live Oaks strung with twinkling lights, set the scene for their rustic-elegant destination wedding.
