Katelan and Barrett’s romance began on Galveston Island when they were introduced by mutual friends. On their first date, attending a concert in Houston, their connection deepened, setting the foundation for a beautiful love story ahead.
Barrett orchestrated a surprise proposal under the guise of a family birthday celebration. With Katelan completely unaware, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. After her joyful “yes,” they celebrated their engagement with family and friends at the very spot where their love story first began.
On May 18, 2024, Katelan and Barrett wed in a stunning ballroom wedding at The Tremont House. The couple exchanged vows beneath a breathtaking floral arch featuring blue hydrangeas, white roses, and lush greenery, creating a romantic, timeless setting for their ceremony.
The reception continued in the elegant ballroom, decorated in light blue hues, warm candlelight, and gold accents. The focal point of the evening was a classic four-tier white wedding cake by Susie’s Cakes. Guests danced the night away to fantastic live music by Danny Ray and the Atlantic Street Band. Katelan and Barrett’s celebration culminated in a second-line parade through Galveston’s historic Strand District, led by the band under the glowing Mardi Gras arches. It was a fitting end to their perfect day.
