Bryan Roth moved from Chicago to Houston for his ophthalmology residency at Baylor in 2015. A couple of months later, he swiped right on Houston native Leslie Goldberg’s profile on the Jewish dating app JSwipe, and their love story began. The couple’s life of togetherness, traveling, caring for their puppy and hiking, started from their first date over sushi and drinks. After four years together and a move to Ohio, Leslie was happily awaiting Bryan’s marriage proposal while Bryan made big plans to make it happen. The pandemic, however, threw a wrench in his plans forcing him to adapt.

The stylist for this shoot, wedding planner Scarlet Rose Events, honored Camp Lucy’s rich history with a delicate color palette of subtle blues, pinks, and creams to complement the gorgeous stonework at Ian’s Chapel (a restored Catholic church imported from Vietnam) and the natural, lush greens of the hill country. Anna Kay Photography brought our shoot to life with its signature style of capturing architecture and creating a soft, inviting atmosphere.
