With an eye for capturing the chemistry between couples, Houston wedding photographer Stephania Campos hit the town (downtown Houston to be exact) for a romantic engagement shoot with McKenzie and David!
Soaring skyscrapers and the iconic Houston skyline were the backdrops for McKenzie and David’s engagement session. Stephania Campos captured all the intimate moments from loving embraces to sweet glances and kisses. McKenzie and David will be getting married at the magnificent and historic Iron Manor later this year. We are swooning over these dreamy, love-filled photos by Stephania Campos and congratulate this gorgeous Houston couple on their engagement!
A week after moving back from Stuttgart, Germany, Ian, an Opera singer and the venue director of Conroe event venue Madera Estates, met Paul at McGovern Centennial Gardens during a holiday party in 2016. Two years later, Paul proposed to Ian in NYC after a Broadway show, on top of the iconic Empire State building. It was only fitting for the couple to select Madera Estates for their winter nuptials! “As the venue owner of Madera Estates, we knew immediately we wanted to play to the strengths of the venue, while also doing something completely different and unique to us,” says Ian. “Our leap day wedding was a vintage, Spanish-inspired evening filled with an abundance of candlelight. Deep and rich colors of navy, burgundy, and saffron were complimented by talavera and handmade wrought iron pieces.”
Guests were greeted upon arrival with flower-adorned beer burros and the women in the wedding party wore Frida Kahlo inspired headpieces. The couple tied the knot in a romantic twilight ceremony followed by a show-stopping fireworks display. The celebration moved indoors to Madera Estates’ Hacienda and the newlyweds made their grand reception entrance with adorable alpacas. The evening’s entertainment kicked off with Ian and Paul’s first dance where a drag queen interrupted them acting as a jilted bride! A churro bar and boozy hot chocolate fueled guests for a lively “La Hora Loca” featuring characters on stilts and light up foam sticks. The greatest challenge Ian faced while planning their festive wedding was, “Letting go! As an industry professional, it was hard to not micromanage the process or even day-of details. I call it the blessing and the curse!”
We are so excited to feature this handsome Houston couple and their vintage Spanish-inspired wedding, captured in such detail by Ama By Aisha. Congratulations, Ian & Paul!
Spanning 10,000 miles of rolling hills dotted with winding rivers and sparkling lakes, the Texas Hill Country is one of the state’s—and, more recently, the entire nation’s—favorite spots for easygoing, elegant, fun-filled destination weddings. And it’s easy to understand why. First, there’s the expansive green landscape, which becomes a riot of color each spring when Indian paintbrushes, buttercups and much-beloved bluebonnets cover the gentle rises of this scenic region. Then there are the quaint towns, filled with gracious inns, lovely shops, barbecue joints and brewpubs, and tons of historic sites, from legendary Texas dancehalls to 19th-century farms to mansions-turned-museums. The Texas wine country, meanwhile, continues to grow in popularity (and in wine quality), with many wineries offering tours, tastings—even on-site accommodations, and private-dining options for unique rehearsal dinners and engagement parties.
But it’s the wide range of wedding venues in the Texas Hill Country that are the real draw of this coveted destination. Looking for a picture-perfect historic colonial chapel, complete with an antique wedding bell? Does your dream reception take place inside a gleaming grand hall, with soaring ceilings, sparkling crystal chandeliers, and a dance floor as big as all of Texas? Maybe you’re envisioning a resort-style wedding, with championship golf, tons of activities to entertain your guests, and a luxurious on-site spa, where you and the girls can relax and reconnect? You’ll find all of these, plus proximity to San Antonio and Austin—two of the state’s liveliest, most fun-filled cities—at these 4 gorgeous Texas Hill Country wedding venues.
An open-air rehearsal dinner under the expansive sky is a lovely way to give your guests a relaxing and Texas-style welcome to your wedding festivities. Check out this beautiful courtyard rehearsal dinner decor by Kirksey Gregg Productions for some inspiration for your own celebration!
After finding their vendors at Weddings In Houston’s I Do! Soiree in 2019, high school sweethearts and soulmates, Brittan and Grant chose the chic, modern Hotel ZaZa Houston Museum District for their elegant fall wedding.
The couple celebrated their nuptials in iconic ZaZa style, surrounded by a timeless palette of white, gold and black. “Our wedding was very classic; white flowers, gold touches and a mixture of dark effects from the ZaZa Phantom Ballroom flooring,” notes the bride. “The hallway had portraits of us lining the walls—a ZaZa touch that we loved!” A delicious meal and cake with Bavarian cream filling by Susie’s Cakes fueled the newlyweds and their 225 guests for an evening of dancing on a black and white striped dance floor beneath an enormous chandelier.
We’re so happy to feature this sweet Houston couple and their gorgeous white, gold and black classic wedding, beautifully captured by Stephania Campos. Congratulations, Brittan & Grant!
