Pink and Navy Petroleum Club of Houston Wedding

A wedding ceremony is a dramatic occasion—and the vista of downtown Houston, visible via the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Petroleum Club of Houston’s 43rd-floor Discovery Room, is the perfect backdrop for such a scene. Just ask Houston bride Annie, who said her vows to Antonio there, then danced up a storm with 280 friends and family members in celebration of her blessed union. Sweet couple, beautiful wedding, what more could one ask for? Oh—and cheers to Love Lee Photography for the lovely photography

Navy, Gray & Yellow Spring Rooftop Wedding

Of late, we’ve had a flood of truly fabulous proposal stories, and we just gotta say…good work, guys!! You are seriously outdoing yourselves. Take, for instance, Luis, who incorporated his into a photo shoot Herminia was doing as a favor for a good friend of hers. “My friend disappeared to look for his tassel (he was really hiding in the bushes to take pictures of US). Luis showed up with a lens that I really, really wanted. He asked me to take a picture of him so I snapped a couple and when I looked at my camera I noticed he was looking down in one of the photos. I looked at him, and he was knelt down asking me to marry him. It was perfect.” Just about as perfect as the couple’s spring wedding, with its outdoor rooftop wedding ceremony at The Grove—“We provided fans as programs to apologize for the scorching hot Houston sun,” Herminia says—followed by a fun-filled hotel reception for 300 guests. Enjoy these joyful pix of this lovely Houston rooftop wedding, courtesy Jesus Gonzalez Photography, and join us in wishing Herminia and Luis a lifetime of love!

It pays to exercise! Just ask bride Katie, who fell in love with future groom David when the two started working out together in training for a triathlon. “We became good friends, and later did a half marathon together,” Katie tells us. “An engagement was soon to follow…and now so is a baby girl!” We’re so happy for newlyweds, and so delighted to share with you their Woodlands Resort & Conference Center wedding, shot by the very talented Huz Abdul of Kreative Angle Photography. Simple and elegant, with champagne, mocha and navy accent colors and a focus on the beautiful Woodlands Resort surroundings—we are charmed by this sweet wedding and the wonderful couple who shared it with us. Congratulations, Katie and David!

Houston City Club Wedding by Sarah Ainsworth Photography

Fresh, elegant, lovely. These words describe both bride Monica AND her spring wedding to her handsome groom, Bruno. Here’s a romantic tale to make your heart go pitter-pat: The pair met while Monica was on vacation in Buenos Aires, visiting friends who were studying abroad there. On the last night of her trip, the group visited a neighborhood pub, where Bruno happened to be hanging out. The two hit it off like gangbusters, but, alas, Houston-bound Monica had to jet home the next morning—not without giving Bruno her contact info, though. Eight months, and zillions of Skype calls and Facebook messages later, Monica made it back to Argentina for a legal internship. “As soon as we saw each other again, we knew we had found our soul mates,” Monica says. “We began dating immediately and got engaged one year later.” Their Houston City Club wedding celebration, with its exceptionally elegant palette of coral, cream and hints of navy blue, is a testament to the power of long-distance love—not to mention a knockout showcase of some of Houston’s finest wedding talent, including Occasio Productions, Blooming Gallery and Who Made the Cake, along with photographer Sarah Ainsworth, whose terrific pix are featured here. We’ve got a special shout-out for the bride, who chose coral for her bridesmaids’ palette, but let each of her gals choose her own dress style. The arrangement turned out perfectly—and don’t those ’maids look happy? Congratulations y felicidades to Monica and Bruno!
