When Devin first noticed Rachel, she was already wearing a white dress and veil. At the time, the pair were just 13 years old, but even still, Devin knew he’d marry that girl someday. And that’s exactly what he did! While Devin and Rachel dated for a few months, about a year later, they broke up because of the long-distance. But, in typical millennial fashion, Devin and Rachel connected through social media again in 2017. “One DM on Instagram, and less than a year later, we were engaged!” said Rachel.
The proposal was nothing short of magical. The couple was on a trip to the US Virgin Islands when Devin had Rachel follow a fun scavenger hunt, hop on a boat, and venture to a private island. With the whole beach to themselves, Devin popped the question, and Rachel happily said yes! With such a thoughtful, intimate engagement, it only fits that their wedding was the same. College is a time for growth preparation for life as an adult. For Heather and Nick, it also provided their chance encounter. Meeting at Texas A&M’s “Fish Camp” orientation program, the two began a sweet romance. During Heather’s senior year of college, while she worked in Arizona for six weeks Nick came to visit her and took her on a gorgeous hike through the Grand Canyon. With the breath-taking view as a backdrop, Nick popped the question. “With tears already streaming down my face, my exact words were ‘YES, but there’s nothing in the box.'” Startled by her response, Nick began searching for the ring and thankfully found it next to him, and (shaking a little), slid it onto her finger. “I was laughing and crying at the same time,” Heather says. The couple decided to take their nuptials back to the place where they first met, and exchanged vows at Peach Creek Ranch in College Station. With its rustic charm, the barn house, surrounded by cozy cottages, provided them with their own slice of Heaven for the day. Congratulations, Heather and Nick, on finding your forever love!

Houston bride Vanessa and her groom, Luis, dreamed of a sunset wedding in Texas Hill Country, and just knew The Terrace Club would be the perfect location. “Our wedding day was a dream come true for us and our family,” says the bride. “We were so detailed in every aspect because we wanted it to be special, and The Terrace Club understood our vision.” Their Hill Country wedding was decidedly glam, complete with gold glitter accents, wine barrels topped with gold candelabras, and string lights leading out from the altar.
Vanessa tells us that one of her favorite details about the outdoor ceremony decor were the blankets given as favors for the guests.
“My most memorable moment was when we snuck off in the middle of the reception to take some pictures outside. Luis twirled me like a princess in my dress…it was like a scene straight from a fairytale,” Vanessa recounts.
“We call our wedding our ‘fairytale wedding,’ because it truly was,” says bride Gina. “From the flowers, to the photographer, to the makeup, to our attire, to the music, to our guests…everything was just perfect.” Taking a DIY approach to their low-key, vintage-country celebration, Gina and Ryan planned their wedding together, treating friends and family to an intimate gathering where Texan touches abounded, and fun was the focus. As Gina explains, “We tried not to spend on things that we didn’t find special to us, and we invested in things that we found truly important. I got the dress I always dreamed of [a beautiful drop-waist, tiered Tara Keely from Weddings by Debbie], and Ryan loved his Vera Wang suit. We had our ceremony at a very small, intimate Methodist church with stained-glass windows and wooden pews. We used baby’s breath on the pews and for the bouquets and boutonnieres to create our vintage look. We took our pictures with our AMAZING photographer, Lindsay Elizabeth Strode of Lindsay Elizabeth Photography, outside of the church in a field that gave us such a fun, vintage country look…just what we were hoping to find. We then had our reception at local BBQ restaurant and dance hall, with hanging white lights from the celling, wood floors and bar, Texas country decor across the walls, and a big stage for the DJ to set up. We decorated with burlap and lace tablecloths, handmade mason jar centerpieces, and a green-theme candy bar, and we gave out personalized koozies. We danced the night away in our cowboy boots to our favorite music and favorite friends and family. We wouldn’t trade our wedding day for the world!”
