After a chance meeting while celebrating Cinco de Mayo, Jessica and Andrew immediately hit it off while bonding over Sperry’s. Jessica noticed Andrew’s white Sperry’s and blurted out that she had the same shoes but in cheetah print. This led him to ask “who wears cheetah” so naturally, Jessica recites the next line of the Selfie Song and they’ve been inseparable since. “Our meeting was ridiculous, and throughout that entire night, we recited the Selfie Song obnoxiously, laughed, and talked about everything and nothing,” recalls Jessica. “It felt like we found the perfect person at the perfect time.” At the end of the night, Andrew asked Jessica for her number a street over from where they would, later on, have their fall wedding at. “I’m a massive believer in fate, and I knew there was a reason we met.”

Just as fate intended, the couple tied the knot in a dreamy outdoor garden ceremony surrounded by 120 of their loved ones. For the reception, velvet place cards in a color palette of navy, burgundy, and ivory and velvet linens played a critical role in their fall wedding. “The color was a representation of the type of entree that had been picked,” explains Jessica. “My mother’s name in Vietnamese translates to velvet, so I wanted to pay homage to that. EB Inc. Event Rentals & Design was able to make my velvet dreams come true, and we were able to have ivory and red velvet linens for our tables.” Guests dined on steak churrasco and lemon rosemary chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and haricot verts before hitting the dancefloor. To pay homage to Jessica’s Vietnamese culture, the newlyweds surprised guests with a Lion Dance performance and Jessica wore a traditional Vietnamese dress. Jessica and Andrew’s biggest obstacle while planing their fall wedding was having to narrow down the vendors they went with. Says Jessica: “I really built some amazing relationships with the people in the wedding industry and there is so much talent and love that fuels into our special day. I wish I could’ve hired everyone I met at the I Do! Soiree.” Join us in celebrating this sweet couple and swooning over their gorgeous fall wedding, all beautifully documented by Houston wedding photographer Kate Elizabeth Photography and Houston wedding videographer Reverent Wedding Films. Congratulations, Jessica & Andrew!

Amanda and Andrew met in 2012 while attending a Texas Christian University football game where they both went to school. Fast-track to six years later: While on a trip in New York City, Amanda’s favorite city, Andrew arranged a surprise of a lifetime during a carriage ride through Central Park…a proposal!

For their summer wedding, the couple chose the modern and sophisticated Hotel ZaZa Memorial City as their wedding venue: “Hotel ZaZa was amazing to work with!” says the bride. Amanda and Andrew tied the knot in a traditional Jewish ceremony beneath a gorgeous chuppah adorned with fresh white flowers, beautifully designed by Plants N’ Petals. For their ballroom reception, “The theme was modern with black, white and metallic highlights,” featuring lush floral centerpieces, chic black tablecloths and oversized crystal chandeliers, all anchored by a gleaming black and white dance floor with dramatic uplighting. Guests indulged in a six-tier amaretto cake with white buttercream frosting and a cookies and cream groom’s cake in the shape of Texas with the TCU logo, both from Cakes by GinaThe joyous newlyweds enjoyed a confetti send-off through Hotel ZaZa before joining their guests at their “Happily Ever After Party” where a DJ, lounge furniture, glow-in-the-dark crowns and necklaces, and after-party drinks and eats awaited them.

We are so excited to feature this gorgeous Houston couple and their stunning modern wedding. Congratulations, Amanda & Andrew!

Intimate Brunch Wedding at Brennan’s of Houston

Anita and Bill met as neighbors at a house party during Lights In The Heights in 2017 while they bonded over having daughters. “I was a little shy but his constant warmth and helpfulness lead us to become fast friends who found had similar stories: some happy, some painful,” recounts Anita. “We quickly found ourselves and our girls to be inseparable and decided we are better together than apart!” While on a trip to Bill’s hometown of New Orleans, Bill took Anita and their daughters to explore Jackson Square. “I watched our girls running around in joy in a post-Christmas mist thinking how lucky we all were to find one another,” recalls Anita. “I turned to look and found Bill on his knee proposing! Needless to say, I was blown away and passersby all stopped to watch as our girls whooped all around us. I said yes and the rest is history… “

For their summer wedding, it was only natural that the couple would tie the knot at Texas creole restaurant Brennan’s of Houston for a classic New Orleans brunch. “Brennan’s of Houston was the perfect location and the courtyard was beautiful for our outdoor morning ceremony,” says the bride. “We chose live music and had a small intimate wedding. Our girls were the flower girls and only our family and our neighbor family (which is so fitting since that is where we met) attended.” For their reception meal seafood dominated the menu, paying tribute to the bride’s Croatian heritage and the groom’s New Orleans upbringing, where guests dined on crab cakes, Gulf coast snapper, and Banana’s foster. Since their brunch wedding was on Father’s Day, the couple had a variety of wedding favors for their guests including cigars for the men, gift sets for the kids, and jams from Croatia where Anita and her family are from. It was a series of perfect moments,” says Anita. “Two people who didn’t expect love again were able to find it literally right outside their doors…”

Isn’t their love story the sweetest? We’re so happy to feature this gorgeous Houston couple and share their intimate brunch wedding with y’all. Join us in celebrating their love by scrolling through these beautiful images from Blanca Duran. Congratulations, Anita & Bill!
