Karina and Andres unexpectedly met through their families at an intimate hibachi dinner. “The moment I saw her, my world seemed to stand still,” says the groom. Just a few days later, they crossed paths again at another family gathering, where they exchanged phone numbers, though Karina accidentally gave him the wrong one. When Andres later admitted he had tried to reach out, fate seemed to step in, bringing them back together.
During a family vacation to Matehuala, Mexico, Karina and Andres slipped away for a romantic escape to Real de Catorce. They spent their days horseback riding through the mountains and exploring the charming historic town together before Andres planned one final surprise for Karina. Believing she was simply getting ready to ring in the New Year with his family, Karina stepped onto the hotel’s terrace to find a breathtaking proposal surrounded by flowers, flickering candlelight and soft music playing their favorite songs. “It was absolutely perfect, more beautiful than I had ever dreamed of,” says the bride.
In March 2026, Karina and Andres wed in a traditional church ceremony in The Woodlands, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. Guests then made their way to an elegant garden-inspired reception, where lush white blooms, fresh greenery and custom white and green wedding stationery by The Penny Paperie came together to create a timeless celebration. The evening was filled with heartfelt toasts, signature cocktails and a packed dance floor. As the celebration drew to a close, Karina and Andres cut into a decadent five-tier wedding cake by Cakes by Gina before making a stylish exit beneath a canopy of sparklers.
