Some love stories take time, and for Marwah and renowned Houston DJ Senega, twenty years was exactly how long it took. The two first crossed paths through mutual friends, orbiting the same social circles for years. It wasn’t until May 2020 that Senega messaged Marwah on social media, and what started as casual conversation quickly revealed they had more in common.
When the time came to propose, Senega took Marwah back to her hometown, Calgary, Canada. In a park, Senega proposed, and the entire moment was captured on camera. Following the proposal, Marwah thought she was heading to a gathering with hometown friends. Instead, she walked into an engagement party celebrating them both.
Before their grand Houston celebration, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate private ceremony at Le Tesserae, with Marwah’s two daughters present to witness the joyous moment.
The reception that followed a week later was nothing short of spectacular. Walker Chancey with Regina Gust Designs filled the space with fragrant blooms that tied together the couple’s rich color palette of shades of eggplant, cream, and gold. Premier Sound and Lighting brought the energy, and, in a full-circle moment, DJ Senega himself took the stage to keep the celebration going. Guests danced the night away, resting on acrylic barstools from Caesar Event Rentals Houston set around the dance floor, and indulging in mini desserts from Alchemy Bake Lab. Plus, two exotic cars on display gave guests one more reason to linger.
