Classic, Traditional, Blush, Green and Gold Houston Wedding at Chateau Cocomar

Looking absolutely gorgeous in her Lazaro gown, bride Corina wed handsome groom Eric in front of 130 of the couple’s nearest and dearest. And despite the heat of the summer day, Chateau Cocomar looked fresh and cool for the occasion, filled as it was with crisp linens, gorgeous blush and ivory flowers courtesy of Arteflora, and plenty of light-catching crystals. For all its elegant formality, this Houston couple’s wedding was also FUN, featuring dancing, sparklers, teddy bears…and a performance by none other than the bride herself! Gorgeous Great Gatsby Bridal Luncheon at Chateau Cocomar

When Chateau Cocomar throws a party to thank its brides, you know that party is going to be something special. And the April bridal luncheon the Houston venue hosted to show its gratitude and love for its 2012 brides was very special indeed. Designed by the exceptionally talented Tamara Menges, in homage to the 1920s decadence of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby,” the lovely luncheon featured shades of cream, white, ivory, gold, blush and champagne, with de rigeur touches of feathers, pearls and lace. We’re so delighted to feature photographer Holly Hoyt’s dreamy photos of this gorgeous event at the beautiful Chateau Cocomar. Seriously, how beautiful is this event? Let us know what you think! Chateau Cocomar Bridal Shoot by Memories by Maryanne

Houston photographer Maryanne Keeling has photographed bride Lauren’s family for years, and “I had a great time with her during her senior portrait session when she was graduating high school,” she tells us. So when Lauren got engaged, Keeling couldn’t wait to snap a few pix of Chateau Cocomar and send them off to the bride-to-be, who was living in Amarillo at the time—“I picked the location for the shoot—I knew Lauren would love it!” Not only did Lauren fall in love with the fairytale venue—“absolutely perfect” is how she responded to viewing Keeling’s preview shots of the site—but she added even more magic to the already enchanting surroundings, posing for her beautiful bridal shoot in her Pronovias “Bergamo” gown, with its breathlessly romantic lace overlay. So pretty, don’t you think?

Chateau Cocomar Opens In Grand Style

In what just may have been the most hotly anticipated Houston wedding venue debut in as long as we can remember, Chateau Cocomar celebrated its grand opening on Friday, July 27. And let’s just say the magnificent Moulin-Rouge-theme bash proved it was worth the wait. The magnificent chandeliers! The soaring arches! The acres and acres of gleaming, gorgeous marble! Taking all this stunning space and transforming it into a wonderland of event possibilities—with a titillating turn-of-the-century-French-cabaret edge—were some exceptional Houston vendors, helmed by planner extraordinaire Aurora Perez-Smith of Occasio Productions, and including Bright Star Productions (lighting), Elegant Beginnings (linens) and Cordua Catering (cuisine), among others. Feast your eyes on these fabulous event photos from J. Cogliandro—and take a couple of minutes to check out the terrific video clip by Dakine Films. We have no doubt that prime dates for this beautiful venue will fill FAST…so if you’re thinking le chateau may just be the perfect Houston wedding site for the day and night of your dreams, we suggest scheduling your tour tout de suite!
