Houston boasts a variety of picturesque locations for bridals, engagement and wedding portraits, but our favorite city’s skyline is an undeniably stunning backdrop. Daughter of Houston’s Mayor Turner, influencer and blog writer Ashley Turner, recently said I do, and her bridals are anything but ordinary. A fairytale-inspired wedding gown (complete with a sweeping ruffled train), a long lace veil and a bejeweled bridal headpiece completed Ashley’s glam look while the setting sun cast the dreamiest glow on the tall downtown buildings behind her.

“Aisha Khan was the photographer, and she did such an amazing job with our engagement session that I completely trusted her vision for the bridal portraits. We sent pictures of the dress to her, and she suggested that we do an evening shoot to capture the glistening effect of the gown.”

“Being a curvy/plus-size bride, it was important that I didn’t feel like I was compromising on my wedding dress because I am not a standard size. Julie understands all body types, and I knew she would be able to create the dress of my dreams,” says Ashley.

“The dress was completely custom from the design to the fabric. I wanted to have a different look for the reception, and we decided to create a detachable train for the ceremony,” says Ashley.

“She also created a cathedral veil for the ceremony,” says Ashley.
Bride, Ashley Turner, is closing her eyes so you can see her eyeshadow. Her overall makeup look is a subtle smokey eye for her bridal shoot.
“I thoroughly enjoyed being a bride-to-be and have tried my best to be present in every moment. It is a beautiful and exciting journey that led to the most amazing day,” says Ashley.
