When Tom's original plan to propose in Cabo San Lucas was canceled due to Hurricane Harvey, Rachel’s sister stepped in to help him plan a second proposal. They decided a family trip would provide the perfect opportunity. After a lovely family dinner in downtown Seattle, the family went to a local salsa club. "We arrived, and my family and I started dancing," remembers Rachel. "When our favorite song (Marc Anthony’s 'Vivir Mi Vida') came on, I grabbed Tom and started dancing." To her delight, the entire dance floor crowd formed a circle around them and started dancing a choreographed Rueda. Without warning, Tom suddenly dropped to one knee before Rachel - and proposed! "I was shocked and amazed that the whole salsa club was in on the surprise!" The sophisticated and historical ambiance of Hotel Icon inspired the romantic "vintage-elegant" vibe of their November wedding. Flowers and decor in shades of blush and burgundy were complemented by elements of antique gold, expertly designed by the team at Plants N' Petals. The bride’s form-fitting lace gown featured dainty off-the-shoulder sleeves worn during the wedding, which were removed for dancing at the reception. During the cocktail hour, "we quietly entered the ballroom before our guests and shared a private slow dance. This was a special moment that photographer Blanca Duran was able to capture in a candid photo," says Rachel. For the reception, a dinner of dry-aged prime filet mignon and salmon with fresh herbs was followed by wedding cake (a blush-and-gold stunner designed by Cakes By Gina), and dancing the night away with neon glow sticks. "As the evening came to a close, we were sent off to the sound of our guests singing 'Sweet Caroline' – a memory that we won't soon forget!"
