LaKayla + Adrian
Set up over a group text by a friend of her sister’s, LaKayla and Adrian hit it off immediately. Two years later, Adrian proposed to LaKayla…while she was sleeping . Yup, that’s right, though she was in the habit of waiting up late for him to return from his Masonic meetings on Thursdays, that particular evening she’d hit the pillow early after a long, stressful day. “It seemed like I was in the best part of my sleep when I heard this ongoing noise,” she recounts. “I just knew I was dreaming.” Except, of course, she wasn’t. The noise she heard was Adrian singing the lyrics to Jagged Edge’s “Lets Get Married.” When LaKayla finally opened her eyes, she saw a “bright light shining in the dark room…from the ring box!” One year later the pair wed at Raveneaux Country Club, with a celebration coordinated, decorated and styled by Events De Luxe, in a glamorous palette of black, white, champagne and gold. LaKayla says that despite her busy work schedule as a Houston attorney, she really focused on making sure her wedding was full of elegant details and sentimental touches—“From our website to the dance floor, I worked hard to make it personalized, and everyone seemed to love it.”
