Kelsey + Reid
Following a romantic proposal overlooking Lake Travis, Kelsey and Reid decided on a rustic-elegant Texas Hill Country wedding at riverfront venue Old Glory Ranch. Planning a Texas destination wedding "would have been impossible without the completely professional and attentive staff of Old Glory Ranch," says the bride. Showers earlier in the day retreated, leaving the couple a beautiful afternoon for the celebration; in fact, a rainbow appeared behind the newlyweds as they left the ceremony site in a horsedrawn carriage. During a golden cocktail hour, the venue’s famous "beer burros" – miniature donkeys toting satchels filled with Shiner Bock and Topo Chico – kept wedding guests company, while a signature-themed bar menu offered Something Old (Old Fashioned), Something New (Bourbon Renewal), Something Borrowed (Kir's Kir Royale), and Something Blue (Blue Moscow Mule). The reception began with the couple's first dance to "Tennessee Whiskey", and featured equestrian decor reflecting the couples’ love of horses and the country, "definitely what would be classified as 'country chic'", says the bride. The venue also provided the flowers, décor and rentals for the celebration. A delicious dinner of prime rib and turkey with chipotle raspberry sauce, a birch tree wedding cake topped with the couple's monogram, live vintage country music and dancing, and a sweet sparkler salute made for "a magical evening."
