Britta + Ryan
When Ryan first laid eyes on Britta, he knew he had to put his nerves aside and gather the courage to speak to this pretty girl. The same night that she agreed to hang out with him, Ryan went home and told his mom, “I’m going to marry that girl.” However, getting to “I do” was not quite as easy as Ryan had hoped: “The next five months were filled with my feeble, often embarrassing, attempts to win over not just a girl, but the girl,” he says. “I was served healthy portions of rejection with some extra ‘nope’ sauce on the side.” Eventually, Ryan won over his beloved Britta, and when it came time to propose, he transformed Britta’s parents’ backyard into a scene from their favorite TV show, “Friday Night Lights,” got down on one knee in front of family and friends, and popped the question. The couple’s Northgate Country Club wedding featured lush magnolia flowers and leaves from the tree in her parents’ front yard, along with a piece of the bride’s mother’s wedding dress repurposed as an aisle runner for the ceremony. “I wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding,” Britta says.
