Blakely + Nick
Engineer Nick and marketing manager Blakely met on a blind date. "The joke is that Nick only texted to ask me out because we had the same Ohio area code and he was curious why. Regardless, he took me out to Brennan's of Houston for our first date, and we hit it off right away!" Nick got her father’s permission for her hand before his romantic, private proposal with pink roses and pink champagne. The couple chose the Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa for their celebration, falling in love with its classic charm and light-strung live oak tree. The wedding was elegant, romantic and traditional, impeccably planned by Grayhouse Events Atelier. Blakely walked down the white-carpeted aisle to Nick in a romantic Ines di Santo blush lace gown with a cathedral train from Joan Pillow Bridal Salon. For the reception, the centerpieces, flowers and candles were designed to create a comfortable, homey and welcoming feel for their guests. "The ballrooms were truly transformed with touches of ivory and blush which felt very romantic," says Blakely. "The flowers looked like they were picked fresh from a garden that morning!" The wellplanned menu featured five courses, with French wines specially chosen by Blakey’s father to complement each course. After dinner, the lively band kept guests on the dance floor the entire, perfect evening. Says Blakely, "There is not one thing that I would change about the day!"
