Alexandria + Christopher
Couple Alexandria, a CPA, and Christopher, a Missouri City Councilman, have known each other since childhood. They shared a strengthening friendship through high school, but parted ways for different colleges. Love conquered distance, however, and romance blossomed shortly after graduation. "We haven’t looked back since," says bride Alexandria. Christopher's intimate proposal at home with his mother’s wedding ring was answered with her happy, tearful "Yes!", and the wedding planning began. The couple chose the Julia Ideson Library building as their wedding venue for its beautiful ceilings, gorgeous woodwork and rich history. "Chris and I both love reading, and we knew that the library was the perfect location for our wedding." The bride exchanged her vows with the groom in a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown at a beautiful ceremony officiated by Mayor Sylvester Turner. The reception featured intimate seating amidst floating candles and books from the couples personal collection at each guest table. The menu of lomo saltado, garlic chicken and grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables, with mimosa-flavored wedding cake for dessert energized guests for an evening of dancing on the custom monogrammed dance floor. "My favorite moments were being introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Preston for the first time, and our first dance!" says the bride. "We were surrounded by so many people, but it felt like we were the only two people in the room."
