Like many modern romances, Nikki and Austin’s love story began online. But their instant connection sparked something special. The two bonded over shared values, interests, and a mutual love of golden retrievers.

When it came time to propose, Austin devised a plan for both families to gather before a festive night at the Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo. Before leaving for the evening, Austin got down on one knee and proposed to Nikki. The bride says, “It was a perfect low-key, family-oriented proposal”.

After a sweet first look on August 5th, 2023, Nikki and Austin exchanged vows in a traditional church ceremony. The bride walked down the aisle in an elegant gown, while bridesmaids donned mix-and-match green dresses contrasting the pops of orange and yellow. The celebration continued at The Ballroom at Bayou Place with a vibrant celebration decorated with a whimsical floral installation, blooming orange and yellow floral centerpieces and an abundance of warm candlelight. Creative details like a seating chart with personalized luggage tags and illustrated paper goods with the couple’s pup “Finn” made it uniquely “Nikki and Austin.”

After cutting into a decadent 3-tiered wedding cake by Cakes by Gina, the couple danced the night away to their favorite tunes from Taylor Swift and The Killers. Nikki says, “It will forever be the best and most perfect weekend of our lives!”. Before a sparkler send-off, the bride and groom shared one last dance. Bride says, “We were able to share a private last dance together, to reflect on all the love our guests showered us with and remember that this was the moment we were starting the rest of our lives together as husband and wife!”
