Black and White (and Stylish All Over) Wedding by Alyse French

Rebekah and Matthew’s “you’d better watch what you say” story is one with a very happy ending. Check this out: These two Houston singles happened to talk to the same mutual friend on the same day, and both happened to mention they were bored. A light bulb flashed above the aforementioned mutual friend’s head, and she pretty much insisted that the two alleviate their shared ennui by having dinner together. Just a little over a year later, the pair promised themselves to one another in a moving (and exceptionally chic) wedding at Hotel Derek. Bride Rebekah, whose personal fashion blog we LOVE, btw, looked absolutely lovely in her Lela Rose gown from Ivory Bridal Atelier, and absolutely comfy in those cute Tory Burch flats. As for her bridesmaids in their mix-and-match frocks, well, let’s just say they are a perfect testimonial for giving your ’maids a color (in this case, black) and then just letting them run with it. Gorgeous. Ditto the elegantly understated floral arrangements by Tres’ Bloom and the divine stacked-square Who Made the Cake cake. We hope you enjoy these photos from Alyse French Photography as much as we did. And we know you’ll join us in wishing Rebekah and Matthew a lifetime of happiness!

Retro, Soul-Filled Wedding by C. Baron Photography

They’re both vegetarians. Their favorite season is fall. They both love cooking and vintage soul records and, more than anything, one another. When Camille and Nathan decided to make it official, the pair knew they wanted to their wedding to be an unforgettable reflection of their likes, and their love. Camille spent hours scouring consignment and thrift shops, “scooping up as many pretty amber vessels and goblets as I could find,” she tells us. Reprints of the pairs’ parents’ and grandparents’ weddings mixed with potted succulents and glowing candles in a tableau the two created by hand. On the moonlit eve of their magnificent event, the historic Gardens of Bammel Lane was filled with autumnal shades of marigold, amber, orange and green—not to mention plenty of dancing to—what else?—sweet soul music from days gone by. We’re delighted to share C. Baron Photography’s very pretty pictures of this unique, DIY-filled wedding. And even more delighted to wish Camille and Nathan a lifetime of happiness, music and love. Cheers!

Outdoors-In Houstonian Hotel Wedding by Adam Nyholt

Let’s face it: Houston’s not always the most hospitable city for an al fresco wedding celebration. Which is why we love when a couple brings the best of the outdoors in. Morgan and Carson, who we first featured back in June, when they shared their lovely engagement session with us—also shot by the exceptional Adam Nyholt—transformed The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa ballroom into a lush garden, with the masterful floral work of Events in Bloom. We adore the palette of white, cream and green, the beautiful roses and voluptuous hydrangeas, the wrought iron accents and flickering candles. And that ceiling treatment? Incredible. In her Monique Lhuillier gown from Joan Pillow, Morgan looks like a magnificent flower herself. We’re so happy to feature this stunning wedding. And so happy for Morgan and Carson!

HWB Inspiration Board: Pink, Black, Green & Chic

Think pink and you’re likely to think demure femininity, youthful girlishness. Think pink and green, and you imagine madras plaids and preppy propriety. But add a chic slash of black and a bit of grown-up edge–a vintage choker, a sexy heel, an ombre range from palest blush to deep rose–and you have one seriously sophisticated wedding palette.
