A Yellow and Champagne Wedding Reminiscent of the Italian Countryside

Sophia and Christian’s love story began unexpectedly in January 2022, when they matched on a dating app despite living in different states. After weeks of texting and late-night FaceTime calls, Christian booked a flight to meet her in person.

Their first meeting had a playful twist. Sophia hid behind a vending machine to surprise him, but missed him, running to catch up and accidentally tapping him in the face with her keys. “That weekend was unforgettable, and we both felt very natural with each other,” Sophia says.

Their first major trip together, to Italy, became a cherished chapter in their story. On the couple’s first evening in Florence, they climbed the steps near Piazzale Michelangelo at sunset. As the city stretched out behind them, Christian took Sophia’s hands, got down on one knee, and proposed.

Wanting to honor the country where they fell deeper in love, the couple chose a wedding aesthetic reminiscent of the Italian countryside. At Le Tesserae, they shared a private first look on the terrace, reading vows to one another before exchanging rings surrounded by lush greenery and soft white-and-yellow florals by Plants N’ Petals.

Their reception echoed European romance, with artful florals, glowing tapered candles, and live music beneath the venue’s warm, golden architecture. A Champagne tower and elegant five-tier cake by Cakes by Gina set the tone for celebration before a sparkling grand exit and a ride into the night in a vintage getaway car.
