Pooja and Leonardo’s love story began during their first year of Internal Medicine residency, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I saw how patiently and gracefully she took care of everything she needed to get done and was so calm and collected,” the groom says. A few months later, an unexpected freeze caused a power outage, and Pooja needed to charge her phone. Fortunately, Leo happened to have a generator. They talked through the night, and from there, everything fell into place.

During a family ski trip to Vail, Colorado, Leonardo planned the most breathtaking proposal. He had originally arranged for it to happen later in the trip, but he just couldn’t wait, so he asked the photographer to reschedule. With a breathtaking backdrop of snow-capped mountains and city views, Pooja said “yes!”

In February 2024, the couple pledged their love at Marriott CityPlace at Springwoods Village. The festivities began with a haldi and a vibrant sangeet, featuring a multicolored dance floor packed with guests. Pooja and Leonardo said “I do” with a traditional Indian wedding ceremony and a church service that lovingly blended their cultures. The bride says, “Creating our special vows was so meaningful for us, and being able to say them in the church in front of our loved ones: family, parents, friends, and God was truly the most incredible moment ever!”

The celebration continued after the ceremonies, where the reception featured another stunning outfit change for the newlyweds. Set against a classic black and gold color palette in a spacious ballroom with an open dance floor, the evening was filled with joy. Pooja and her family delighted guests with traditional Indian dances, setting the tone for a night of nonstop music and celebration. The bride says, “We will cherish that forever!”
