It all began on the soccer field at the University of Texas at Austin, where Katie and Vivek found themselves playing on the same co-ed soccer team. Their paths crossed, and destiny had its way.
At the start of 2020, Katie, a traveling nurse on assignment in St. Louis, Missouri, was in for a lifetime surprise. Vivek flew in and orchestrated a romantic proposal on a picturesque canoe in the middle of a July forest. But the surprises didn’t end there. Vivek organized a heartwarming Zoom call with Katie’s closest friends and family.
The couple’s love story led to a bloom-filled multi-day wedding in Houston, where they pledged their love. The festivities began with an intimate Mehndi ceremony and a lively Sangeet. Vibrant shades of pink, green, orange and yellow infused the celebrations with color and life.
On January 8, 2023, Katie and Vivek exchanged vows in a breathtaking traditional Hindu ceremony at The Crystal Ballroom At The Rice. The venue was adorned with blooming florals, setting a romantic ambiance for the couple’s nuptials. An elegant ballroom reception followed the ceremony, where elaborate floral centerpieces and the soft glow of candlelight adorned the reception tables.
Before the couple’s reception, Katie and Vivek shared a private first look at the Magnolia Hotel Houston. “The first thought that crossed my mind when Vivek turned around to see me was that we’re so lucky to have spent our first ten years of adulthood together,” the bride says.
Their beloved rescue pup, Gary, was also a part of the celebration, with custom cocktail napkins saying “drinks on me” featuring his adorable face. Tiny Mum Photography captured every romantic moment from Katie and Vivek’s elegant multi-day celebration.
