Some love stories start with a single message. For Whitney and Troy, it was a Facebook message in high school that led to their first meeting at an orientation dance, and honestly, that was all it took. From that night forward, they were each other’s person, cheering each other on at football games, dance competitions, prom, and every milestone that followed.
The couple’s love for travel brought them to the Italian Dolomites in January 2025 for a ski trip, and one evening over a romantic wine tasting, Troy popped the question and asked Whitney to be his forever. The boutique hotel where they were staying made the moment even more special, surprising the newly engaged couple with a Champagne toast and an Italian dessert to celebrate.
Whitney and Troy kicked off their wedding weekend with a rehearsal dinner surrounded by family and friends at Brenner’s on the Bayou. On their wedding day, The Astorian served as the backdrop for their ceremony, adorned in white blooms and verdant greenery. After being announced as newlyweds, the couple slipped away for a private cocktail hour, just the two of them. Whitney says, “This was the ‘we did it’ moment we got to share.”
The emerald green wedding reception that followed set the tone beautifully, with floral linens, softly glowing lamps and a saxophonist filling the room with jazzy tunes. Cakes by Gina put the finishing touch on the evening with a decadent five-tier cake that was as stunning as it was delicious.
