Grand Galvez Unveils Its New Grand Ballroom

Known as the “Queen of the Gulf,” Grand Galvez has been a landmark on the Texas coast since opening its doors in 1911. Now part of the Autograph Collection, the historic beachfront hotel continues its legacy with the debut of its elegant new Grand Ballroom. The addition marks an exciting new chapter for the property, enhancing its reputation as one of the Gulf Coast’s premier destinations for weddings, galas, and special events while maintaining the timeless charm that has defined Grand Galvez for more than a century.

The newly redesigned Grand Ballroom spans 5,000 square feet and is much larger than its previous footprint, accommodating up to 375 seated guests or 500 guests for receptions. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase panoramic Gulf views, while gold-leaf, multi-layered molded ceilings, custom Versailles-patterned wood-inlay flooring, 18 gold chandeliers, eight dazzling crystal chandeliers, and 38 wall sconces create a sophisticated setting for celebrations of every scale. The ballroom’s flexible layout allows it to easily transition from grand receptions to more intimate gatherings, offering couples both beauty and versatility.

As the new centerpiece of Grand Galvez’s wedding scene, the Grand Ballroom brings together the hotel’s historic elegance and coastal setting in a fresh, elevated way.
