Miriam and Juan’s love story began by fate on the picturesque beach of Lagos, Portugal, in April 2015. Both were studying abroad in Europe, and they had independently booked trips to Lagos on Easter Break. While enjoying the sunny day at the beach, Miriam noticed Juan sporting Texas Flag swim shorts. Intrigued, Juan approached Miriam, and they discovered their shared hometown of Houston. They connected on Instagram and Facebook, and although they went on a date a few years later, Miriam wasn’t ready to commit.
