Robert + Miguel
Following a romantic proposal in Central Park, New York City residents Robert and Miguel chose to wed in Houston—the city where they'd met as medical students. While their biggest challenge was planning their wedding from 1,500 miles away, having Claudia De Velasco of A Day To Remember as their coordinator made things a whole lot easier. The couple tied the knot at The Astorian, against a backdrop of Houston skyline, surrounded by loved ones. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed music from a Mariachi band until the reveal of the stunning reception space, filled with lush white roses, softly glowing candles and shimmering metallic accents. Menu highlights from caterer Churrascos included cola-braised short ribs and pan-roasted chicken, followed by a classic six-tier white cake and a dessert bar, both from Cakes By Gina. While their beautiful venue, amazing food and great music were highlights, Miguel says the best part of their wedding was, simply, getting to wed in Houston, which "has always held a special place in our hearts."
