Renae + Gary
When their planned travel to San Sebastian, Spain, had to be postponed due to Hurricane Harvey, Renae
suggested that they wait until the following spring to make the trip. But Gary insisted that they go sooner.
And on their second night in the seaside resort town, at her favorite restaurant, Renae discovered why:
“Gary was extremely quiet on the way to the restaurant. I thought he was jet-lagged. When we arrived,
they took us to our favorite table, where two glasses of Champagne were waiting. I thought, `What a
nice touch´.” Then she noticed the tears in Gary’s
to ask. “Needless to say, I was shocked, and couldn’t eat a thing,” Renae recounts. “We stayed up all
night texting family and friends our wonderful news.” As both of them are well known in their fields—the
groom owns a respected Houston construction firm, the bride is the general manager of Trellis Spa at
The Houstonian Hotel—the couple opted for an intimate church ceremony (the bride’s 81-year-old father
walked her down the aisle), and 140-guest celebration, surrounded by family and close friends. “The
reception at The Post Oak Hotel was sexy, with live music, lots of great energy in the room, and a fun,
festive feel,” Renae says. “Our first dance was so special. We took 10 weeks of dance lessons prior, so
we both were relieved after a perfect performance. We did not want it to end!”
