Lisa + Chas
It was Lisa’s outgoing personality that drew Chas to her one evening in 2015 at a neighborhood bar, and it’s still that “social butterfly” quality that he says is her most endearing trait. For her part, she notes that, being an expat (she was born in the UK and has lived in five countries), she’s “naturally drawn to an international crowd,” and Chas, an Aussie transplant, fit the bill. From that first meeting, the pair became inseparable, and a week before Christmas 2017, Chas proposed to Lisa at a holiday party at her parents’ home in England. Lisa, the area director of sales for Hotel ZaZa’s two Houston properties, opted for a Mexican destination wedding for her own nuptials. The low-key, adventure-loving couple treated guests to a sunset catamaran cruise and party on Cabo San Lucas bay, in lieu of a rehearsal dinner. “It was a great way to break the ice, and for everyone to mix and mingle before the big day,” Lisa says. The following day, Lisa and Chas said their vows in front of 80 family and friends, on a terrace overlooking the Sea of Cortez, before commencing with an elegant al fresco reception, done up in shades of white and gold, with an abundance of candles and sparkling sequins. “My favorite moment was walking down the aisle with my daddy by my side,” Lisa notes. “I took it all in—the setup, the music, the details, the ambiance, the ocean breeze on my face, our guests who had travelled from near and far to celebrate with us, and my handsome husband-to-be at the end of the aisle waiting for me.”
