Laura + Romy
"Romy captured my heart by being exactly who he is," says bride Laura. "We have a special Hanukkah tradition where each night has a theme. Our eighth night of Hanukkah was a gift 'for our future.'" Laura was excited to gift Romy a drone to use on their travels. Little did she know, Romy was recording the whole thing because her gift was an engagement ring and proposal! The couple chose Colorado for its stunning beauty for their destination wedding. Their October date was chosen for peak foliage season, and the luxury Snowmass resort near Aspen ensured breathtaking scenery and luxurious relaxation. Mother Nature, however, decided to give Aspen the first snow of the year during the wedding weekend! The unexpected weather only enhanced the experience: the surrounding mountains were beautifully dusted with snow and guests snuggled under blankets and sipped hot toddys during the beautiful evening ceremony held outdoors. Laura walked down the aspen leaf-strewn aisle to Romy under twinkling string lights to her father's favorite song, and the two were married under Romy's father's tallit. The reception was an intimate, romantic candlelit dinner. The chocolate wedding cake with vanilla buttercream frosting had a custom topper featuring the bride, groom, and their two dogs. A magical evening continued to unfold, with dancing and celebration fueled by a midnight snack of breakfast tacos. The DJ had the guests dancing until well into the wee hours. "One of our favorite moments was the horah, where Romy and I were lifted in chairs and carried by our family and friends."
