“An elegant, fun, country-Aggie wedding with tons of personalized touches” is how Alaina describes her wedding to former high-school sweetheart James. “On the tables, we had hearts made out of horseshoes that my 84-year-old grandfather made. For wedding favors we had ‘Lovin’ Me Some Lava Cakes’ in mason jars. We also had ‘Pinking of You Lemonade’ served in mason jars with old-fashioned striped paper straws for the kids. We even had personalized WANTED-poster gift bags for the youngest party-goers. Highlights were the gorgeous flowers, the nonstop dancing, and the photo booth which was so much fun!” And we’ve had nothing but fun fawning over Lindsay Elizabeth Photography’s pretty pix of this bright, beautiful spring wedding. Green, Merlot and Bronze Bell Tower Wedding by Carlino’s Photography

It was the summer between 8^th and 9^th grade. She played bass clarinet, he played tuba. And after spending months at band camp having her feet stepped upon by Erick in marching-band practice, Erin “knew there was something special about him,” she tells us with a smile. The two made it official earlier this year with an elegant but high-energy celebration at The Bell Tower on 34^th, a site the bride describes as “an absolutely gorgeous venue—it has so much to offer for a wedding.” She notes, “My ceremony was pretty traditional except for the music. I hired someone to sing and play an acoustic guitar for before and during the ceremony. My bridesmaids walked in to ‘Only Hope’ by Switchfoot, I walked in to ‘Angel’ by Casting Crowns, and our unity-candle song was ‘1,000 Years’ by Christina Perri.” More music—country, pop, classic standards and Spanish songs—filled the rustic-elegant reception, where guests dined on BBQ and buttercream-frosted cake, and danced the night away. We wish a lifetime of happiness to the newlyweds, and send a big thanks out to Alison Carlino of Carlino’s Photography for the evocative images of this classic Houston wedding.

The Springs Events “Great Wedding Giveaway” Winner Tiffany’s Country-Chic Pecan Springs Wedding

In love with her big brother’s friend Kyle from the time she was 10 years old, Tiffany always dreamed of marrying “the one true love of her life”—but she never could have imagined that she would WIN the wedding of her dreams. But that’s exactly what happened. As the very lucky winner of The Springs Events’ 2013 “Great Wedding Giveaway,” Tiffany scored herself a fabulous wedding at her choice of The Springs Events different rustic-elegant Hill Country venues. She and Kyle opted for Brookshire’s lovely Pecan Springs, where they celebrated their love with a wedding that was, in the bride’s words, “country chic, DIY and infused with a lot of love and delicate details.” These included a canvas hand-painted by the maid of honor that served as the wedding’s guestbook, and a handmade brooch bouquet, designed by a dear friend and made up of brooches that each were family heirlooms handed down from generation to generation. Planning help from coordinator Lean On Me Events ensured a perfect day. “I enjoyed the whole wedding from start to finish, but a few of my favorite moments were when I first saw Kyle when I was walking down the aisle. Moroccan Theme Sangeet and Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa Wedding with Moroccan, Vintage and Rustic-Chic Themes

On the 5^th anniversary of the beginning of their courtship, Ronak took Zena to Sonoma, Calif., to celebrate—and, unbeknownst to her—to propose. “During our visit to Pride Vineyard, he had a picnic set up with my favorite foods and during the picnic gave me a scrapbook documenting our five years together. The final page said ‘Happily Ever After?’ Once I got to that page, he got down on one knee and proposed. We spent the rest of the weekend at a wonderful resort in Napa Valley celebrating.” The celebrating continued at the couple’s multi-day Indian wedding, which kicked off with a mehndi party, followed by a Moroccan-theme sangeet at the St. Regis Hotel, and, finally a vintage-theme ceremony with a moss-covered, floral-draped altar, and lushly floral rustic-chic reception, both at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. Southwestern Rustic-Chic Wedding at The Parador by Sarah McKenzie Photography

For their October wedding at The Parador, Christina and Paul created a theme based on where they came from and where they’d been. In the bride’s words, “Our wedding was inspired by our travels, and each of our cultures and favorite destinations was reflected throughout some part of our day.” Set on the gorgeous grounds of The Parador, a circa-1928 Texas Historical Landmark that blends Mediterranean style with Byzantine detail, the couple’s wedding featured soft-hued succulents (even atop the lovely white wedding cake—perfect!), tables named for the couple’s many travel destinations, and culinary delights including green-chile risotto in honor of Paul’s home state of New Mexico. The bride’s delicate mantilla veil, meanwhile, spoke to her Mexican heritage. Despite the fact that both Christina and Paul are deaf, the pair made music a major part of their celebration, starting with a string-quartet processional of the Beatles’ “In My Life.” For their reception entrance, Christina and Paul chose the Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “to honor my late father and his favorite group,” the bride says.
