The New York Wedding of Todd & Ceron

When famed event designer Todd Fiscus, of Todd Events (with locations in Dallas and Houston), tied the knot with longtime love Ceron–he of the renowned eponymous Houston hair salon–you better believe the pair, and their delighted guests, celebrated in supremely chic style. The couple’s New Year’s Eve wedding, held in Manhattan’s Glasshouses (an ultra-cool glass-walled venue overlooking the city’s nighttime sparkle), was an intimate affair for 100 beloved guests. But the event itself was most definitely grand, with its floral entranceway, gleaming black taper candles, accents of gold and crystal, and, apropos of the holiday, plenty of Champagne and caviar. We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, and are so thrilled to have Todd Events as a Weddings in Houston partner. Congratulations, Todd and Ceron!

“Sean proposed to me on Christmas Eve 2011 at my parents’ house. We have a family tradition of each person opening one gift the night before Christmas. That year my mom decided the gift would be an ornament with an inspirational message inside. Everyone opened their ornaments and read their messages aloud, one at a time. I was last because my mom couldn’t seem to find my ornament on the tree. Sean found the ornament for her and he handed it to me. When I opened it my message read, ‘Will you marry me?’ I was so shocked and excited that I didn’t even notice that he was already down on one knee with the ring in his hand telling me how much he loves me. It was perfect! I loved finding out later that Sean had asked my dad for his permission before proposing.” We love it, too, Jessica. And, just like your mom, we love that you had her wedding gown altered to wear at your rehearsal dinner at The Grove. And that you made the invitations to your Chateau Cocomar wedding by hand. And that Sean’s favorite moment of the whole wedding was when he got his “first look” at you, privately, in the moments before the ceremony. And, most of all, that you and Sean found each other, and true love, in this big, wide world. There’s just something so darn sweet (and LOL funny) about this journalistic, third-party courtship story we received on behalf of Houston couple Amy and Jimmy: “After seeing a picture of Amy through a friend’s Facebook, Jimmy was determined to meet her and asked a friend of his to introduce him to her. The introduction was made, but the first date was not made until six months later. Jimmy and Amy had dinner and bonded while watching the first ‘Paranormal Activity’ movie. Since then, they have watched every ‘Paranormal Activity’ movie except for the fourth one, due to Jimmy being out of the country during their anniversary.” See what we mean?? Sanctuary at Water Oak Wedding with Crystals, Cigars, Whiskey and Canine Friends

It wasn’t until her dad encouraged her to speak to cute ranch-hand Nathan (“my dad, who NEVER encouraged his daughters to date,” she laughs), that Louisiana-born Abbie took a second look at the shy guy who worked on her family’s hunting lease. And she liked what she saw. So much so, that when Nathan dropped on one knee and presented her with that unmistakable Tiffany box in November of last year, “I just threw my arms around him and of course I said, ‘Yes!!’” The couple’s summer wedding, coordinated by Gray & Associates Events at Lake Conroe’s picturesque Sanctuary at Water Oak served up Southern favorites including seafood bisque and blackened catfish, along with hand-rolled cigars, a swank whiskey bar, and lots of lively dancing. The pair’s pups Ellie and Boozer were on hand to watch the couple say their vows, and if there ever were two sweeter flower girls than the tulle-frocked cuties at Abbie’s side, we don’t know how or where. Classic, Traditional, Blush, Green and Gold Houston Wedding at Chateau Cocomar

Looking absolutely gorgeous in her Lazaro gown, bride Corina wed handsome groom Eric in front of 130 of the couple’s nearest and dearest. And despite the heat of the summer day, Chateau Cocomar looked fresh and cool for the occasion, filled as it was with crisp linens, gorgeous blush and ivory flowers courtesy of Arteflora, and plenty of light-catching crystals. For all its elegant formality, this Houston couple’s wedding was also FUN, featuring dancing, sparklers, teddy bears…and a performance by none other than the bride herself!
