Avery and Austin’s love story began on Bumble during the height of Covid. “He was very against dating apps, but Covid forced his hand,” Avery shares. Once things started to reopen, the two met at a local bar, only to discover they had both walked there and lived just one street apart! Their close proximity made it easy to spend time together during lockdown without the pressure of being together constantly.
Four years later, Austin proposed in the streets of Paris. After a memorable first trip to the city, Avery says, “We fell in love with the city and made it our tradition to spend New Year’s in Paris. After 3 New Year’s celebrations in the city of love, I entered 2024 as a fiancé!”
The couple exchanged vows on November 2, 2024, at The Pattison House, a country-chic venue that set the tone for a romantic fall celebration. A vibrant palette of pink and orange added playful charm, especially with the mismatched bridesmaid dresses. The altar glowed with dozens of candles, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. One especially touching moment was when the mothers of the bride and groom walked down the aisle side by side, having both lost their husbands in recent years.
Instead of a formal dinner, the couple invited guests to graze and mingle with food and drink stations scattered throughout the venue, featuring everything from wood-fired pizza and street tacos to hot dogs, beignets, and an ice cream cart. Avery slipped into a sparkly mini dress for the reception, where dancing unfolded against a dramatic rock wall backdrop and chandeliers in the reception hall.
