These Brides Exchanged Vows with a Spring Wedding With White Blooms

In college, Ashley joined the program 4K for Cancer, running alongside Jenny, Callie’s roommate. Through Jenny, Ashley and Callie began hearing about one another and kept in touch on social media. Their meeting at Jenny’s engagement party in 2019 sparked a connection that grew from Instagram messages to friendly FaceTime calls. Soon after, Ashley flew for a whirlwind 72-hour date in Texas, and by March 2020, the Florida and Texas duo made it official.

The McGovern Centennial Gardens at Hermann Park held a deep meaning for the couple, making it the perfect spot for Callie’s proposal. On the big day, Callie whisked Ashley away for a romantic picnic in the park before leading her to their apartment, where Callie read a heartfelt poem and popped the question, surrounded by fresh flowers. Ashley said ‘yes,’ and the weekend unfolded with a celebration in the gardens among their friends and family.

On April 5, 2025, Callie and Ashley began their wedding morning over coffee and getting ready together before slipping away to the balcony to exchange private vows. Their black-and-white ceremony reflected timeless sophistication against The Astorian’s industrial chic backdrop.

Guests enjoyed espresso martinis and fun facts about the couple printed on cocktail napkins. Plants N’ Petals transformed the space with white lilies, tulips, and hydrangeas, while table numbers showcased the couple’s favorite concerts. The evening ended with a private last dance, rose petal send-off, and a stylish getaway in a vintage blue Ford Bronco.
