Sarah + Ryan
A self-professed “control freak,” Sarah admits she is “extremely hard to surprise.” Yet surprise her Ryan did, by tricking her into thinking they were going to dinner with their parents on a random summer evening in 2017. Instead, he showed up early at her apartment (she was still in her PJ’s), with a ring and a very important question. After she said, “Yes!” the pair headed to the restaurant where they’d had their first date, then joined friends and family at their favorite neighborhood bar to celebrate. As for their spring wedding day, “It was a dream,” Sarah says. “The chapel and ballroom at Ashton Gardens West had the perfect background and ambiance for our wedding day,” she notes, highlighting the “beautiful windows, classic chandeliers and elegant decor” of the popular Houston wedding venue. Following an intimate ceremony filled with moments of spontaneous humor, “The reception was so much fun,” the bride recounts: “There were lots of dance battles, and of course some cake thrown in my groom’s face.” Toward the end of the evening, she adds, she and Ryan loved “dancing with our friends, seeing people having a blast at the photo booth, and noting how many of our guests stayed for the sparkler exit!”
