Paula + David
She played goalie for the women’s soccer team, and his best friend was the team manager when Paula and David met at the University of Missouri. And while they knew, early on, that they were meant for each other, forever, David’s secretly planned proposal still came as a surprise to Paula, on a weekend trip to Galveston. That’s when he serenaded her while presenting her with an album he’d made containing dozens of mementos of their time together. A little more than one year later, the couple joined 135 friends and family members for an Austin lake-club wedding, with an al-fresco reception filled with low-key elegance. The party perfectly captured Paula’s vision of “Champagne, doughnuts, whiskey, biscuits, roses, tropical blooms and fabulous attire,” where “everything was thoughtfully planned from start to finish,” but “nothing felt too rushed or structured.”
