Mary + Ryan
Four years ago, with the help of Facebook—which can make a blind date…not so blind—Mary agreed to a date with Ryan set up by a mutual friend. And that one date was all it took for love to take hold. A nature-walk diversion at the Houston Arboretum turned into a surprise proposal in July 2016, when Ryan led Mary to a lakeside dock where he’d laid out his favorite photos of them together, and arranged for his brother and one of Mary’s best friends, to film the entire thing. Their wedding at The Grand Hall at Deer Lake Lodge had lush green forest as its picturesque backdrop. “I didn’t want to add too much and take away from the natural beauty,” Mary states. “My fiancé and I love herbs, so we used as much rosemary as we could everywhere.” She adds, “Once we hit the dance floor, we didn’t stop. I think I was out there for two and a half hours! It really was the best day ever.”
