With his “bowtie and preppy look,” Matthew “had me at ‘Hello,’” at the engagement party where the two first met, Candice says. She recounts in detail his surprise August proposal, at sunset near the sand dunes at her parents’ beach house: “I was so taken off guard by the proposal (he had told me in June it wouldn't be for at least a year because he had to save for a ring), that I was wearing the most ridiculous outfit: camo hat, romper, sandals, no makeup, and, worst of all, NO nail polish!” For the couple’s “extremely classic and traditional” Chateau Cocomar wedding, Candice was fully polished, and beautifully styled in a lace Alvina Valenta gown and Badgley Mischka peep-toe pumps. Noting that, “The venue is absolutely gorgeous,” Candice adds, “There were tons of flowers and decor everywhere you looked, the cakes were absolutely beautiful, the band was amazing, and everybody danced from the first song until the venue closed us down.”
